TCC-CIMET recently welcomed a delegation from Hochschule Düsseldorf (HSD), University of Applied Sciences, Germany, as part of ongoing efforts to foster international academic partnerships.

The visit facilitated by research fellow, Mr. Michael Commeh, focused on exploring strategic collaborations in Arts and Sciences, including joint research, faculty and student exchanges, and interdisciplinary innovation.

Discussions highlighted how music, sound, and sculpture can be used as creative mediums for translating scientific research and engineering education into sensory and experiential forms. By turning research outcomes into artistic expressions, both institutions aim to make complex scientific concepts more accessible, engaging, and meaningful to broader audiences.

Speaking on behalf of the Director General,Prof. Davis, Prof. Alexander Marful, Director of Business Development and Sustainability at TCC-CIMET, explained the institution’s STEAM initiative.

"TCC-CIMET is advancing a vision that integrates the Arts into Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics. We are exploring creative ways of presenting scientific research, including expressing findings through dance, music, sound, and sculpture, rather than relying solely on conventional methods. This approach combines scientific discovery with human-centered understanding, connecting knowledge to culture, identity, and lived experience," he said.

He further highlighted that TCC-CIMET’s community collaborations in Nkwatia and Obuasi demonstrate a commitment to research grounded in societal needs, ensuring that knowledge generated advances in academia while delivering practical, human-centered impact.

The dialogue also explored opportunities for joint research, interdisciplinary projects, and exchanges that connect creative practice with scientific inquiry. The visit provided a platform for sharing expertise, identifying common interests, and promoting innovative approaches to science education and research dissemination through the integration of the arts.
